About
why?
“We are consuming at a rate that is unsustainable. We internalize from capitalism that we must buy more and more, buy new, buy the latest trends. There is so much stuff out there. So how could I justify making more stuff? I’m not, really. I’m just changing what already exists and making into something different. Not even new, just different.
My whole art career has been consumed by the pressure of my own perfectionism (ableit from internalized capitalism) and the consequential inability to make literally anything. I would sit down and feel so overwhelmed that I couldn’t even start. This project is a love letter to my inner child who would put marker to paper (or wall, or carpet, or my arm, or your arm) without fear of how the art would be perceived. I do this for them.”
